Respected Principal Sir, Teacher and My Dear Friends Good Morning to All.

I am here today to deliver a simple speech on World No Tobacco Day. First of all, I would like to thank all of you for giving me this opportunity to share a few words.

Ad you know, World No Tobacco Day or Anti Tobacco Day is observed on 31st May Annually throughout the World.The events are organized by the World Health Organization to educate people about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption.

World Health Organization raises a new theme of this year Protecting Children from Tobacco Industry Interfaces.

Dears, it is really shocking news that tobacco kills more than 10 Million people every year and destroys our environment. Agriculture, production, distribution, consumption, and post – consumer waste further adversely affect human health.

You know, Tobacco consumption causes cancer, tooth decay, and cardiovascular diseases among other complications. The day aims for reducing the overall tobacco consumption throughout the globe and to chart out policies for the same.

Smoking Tobacco damages our heart, lungs and blood vessels and increasing our risk of heart disease and stroke. Smoking is injurious not only to direct smokers but also causes the death of around a million passive smokers.

Now a days, different types of tobacco products are dominating in the world markets. Tobacco product include cigarettes, cigars, hookah, chewed tobacco product and Electronic cigarettes. E-Cigarettes have been the most commonly used tobacco product among youth and students. The nicotine in any tobacco product readily absorbs into the blood when a person uses it. Upon entering the blood, nicotine immediately stimulates the adrenal glands.

Nicotine poisoning usually occurs in young children who accidentally chew on nicotine gum or swallow e-cigarette liquid. They show some symptoms include difficulty breathing, vomiting, fainting, headache, weakness, and increased or decreased heart rate. A child or adult might be experiencing a nicotine overdose should seek immediate medical help.

According to WHO, The tobacco epidemic is one of the biggest public health threats the world has ever faced. So, we can join our hands together in struggle towards a tobacco free world.
