Respected Principal Sir, Teachers and My dear friends good morning to All.
Blood Donation is a most important social service to the humankind. Through Blood Donation we can help various needy people and save their precious life. Blood can be regenerated itself in the body and fulfill it’s amount, once is it donated but life cannot be got back, once it is gone.
There are many countries facing the challenge of adequate blood supply. In order to make available the adequate blood to the needy people all over the world, World Health Organization is doing all the efforts such as establishing a campaign named as World Blood Donors Day, celebrated on 14th of June annually. The event serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary, unpaid Blood Donors for their life saving gifts of Blood.
This day was first established on June 14, 2004. Millions of lives are saved with safe blood and blood products and their transfusion. It is a critical requirement in emergency times. During COVID 19 Period, most people required Blood Donors to improve the health and quality of lie of many patients.
Access to blood plays a vital role for those who are in need of it. Despite earlier pandemic, donors in many countries have continued to donate blood and plasma to patients who need a transfusion.
This extraordinary works has highlighted the crucial role of well organized, committed, voluntary, non-remunerated blood donors in ensuring a safe and sufficient blood supply during normal and emergency times.
The Day has the slogan ‘Share Life, Give Blood’, referring to the caring and cohesion that giving blood and caring for others involves.
A special focus of this year’s campaign will be the role of young people in ensuring a safe blood supply. Young people form a large sector of the population in many societies and are generally full of idealism, enthusiasm and creativity.
There are many campaigns started by the Government in the world to manage and tackle the problem of blood in the world. A normal healthy person can easily donate blood many times between 18-60 years of age. I would request you all to donate blood more often. It can save many lives. Blood donation is our responsibility towards society.
